Above the water Artanis needs little urgent attention. The roof will need to be painted, obviously lots or hire boaters bouncing around on top has done it no good. A new set of fenders, ropes and poles have been acquired and go a long way to improving her general appearance.
The engine covers on the stern deck need renewing. These latter items are just pieces of plywood which are not well fitted and allow rainwater to enter the engine compartment and bilges. Eventually I'll replace these with high grip aluminium diamond plate.
		Inside the engine compartment the exhaust was so delicate that it fell apart when the surveyor touched it. A couple of hours wading in the bilges saw a new pipe and lagging fitted.
The engine itself needs little attention, just a service and emptying of the oil drip tray. Beyond that, new coats of paint around the gunwales and the stern deck should complete the external tidying.
